In the past few weeks Google Maps has improved the way Local Guides reviews are being displayed.
The first and most important change is that pictures unrelated to the review but shared by the local guide for the place are now automatically displayed along the review. Since Guides may visit places multiple times, but only 1 review applies to the place of interest, it makes sense that all pictures collected over time should be shared along the review. This also improves the credibility of reviews that have pictures attached to them and therefore improves the user experience.
The other change is that Guides can now see how often their reviews were viewed. Until recently this feature was only available for pictures and videos. This change will definitely help guides see the importance of their reviews for the various places of interest they visit.
